The following bite-sized sections will tell you a lot about me in a few minutes:
I'm a Bioinformatician with a strong interest in Machine Learning, Data Analysis and Data Visualization. In my thesis I wrote a python toolkit, called RAILIN, to predict protein structures from nuclear magnetic resonance data using an approach based on Integer Linear Programming and Bayes classification. Currently, I'm part of a bioinformatics research group at Bayer HealthCare that is involved in the process of drug target discovery.
RAILINTogether with my friend and colleague Robert Adams, I write and discuss about my adventures in Machine Learning and Bioinformatics in the world of Genomics and Precision Medicine.
Go to my BlogIn my spare time I enjoy working on my own projects while contributing to the open-source community. I am particularly interested in Machine Learning, Optimization and Data Visualization. Even though I've worked with High-level programming languages, my favourite programming languages are R, Python and MATLAB. Lately I got particularly interested in the power of interactive visualisation tools like shiny and D3.js, such that I'm getting more and more involved in JavaScript, CSS and HTML5. My recent projects include:
